Recorder is no exception. Currently, on the World’s Largest Database for Recorder Music, just 14% of the works listed are written by women. I would like to increase this number, so I am looking for female and non-binary composers to join me in creating works for my recital ‘Women and Power’ Composers can EITHER submit existing scores choose to relate to the theme: WOMEN AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO POWER I am committed to increasing diversity in classical music and I would love to receive submissions from all nationalities, ethnicities and races. For My Master’s Thesis at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, I explored the history of the Paetzold Bass Recorder family, and the innovators who are responsible for the creation of the contemporary Paetzold repertoire. I worked with four composers: Lillie Harris, Asha Parkinson, Andrea Guterres and Verena Barié to premiere four new works that used the Paetzold recorder in an innovative way.
